Class Syllabus

FRANKLIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL

2019-2020

US History

Steve Sisk

US History is designed to further knowledge and appreciation of our nation's past, present, and future. This semester, content will be covered accompanied with a variety of activities, materials, and student achievement. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be better prepared to understand the significance of our country's history and successfully fulfill the history requirement of Franklin County High School's graduation criteria.

CLASS EXPECTATIONS

  1. BE PREPARED

Always bring the necessary materials to class (i.e. Chrome Book, paper, pencil/pen, History notebook, homework, etc.).

  1. BE ON TIME

Every minute of class time is important.

  1. BE RESPECTFUL

Follow the “Golden Rule.” Be respectful of your fellow classmates, your teacher, and the property in the classroom.  Basically, treat others and their things the way you want to be treated, and we will have a great year.  Listen attentively when myself or other students are addressing the class. I promise I’ll give you a chance to ask a question or make a comment. TALKING IN THE CLASSROOM IS A GOOD THING!!!

CLASS SUPPLIES

  1. Pencil/Pen; colored pencils

  2. Wide ruled/college ruled paper

  3. One 3-ring binder notebook to keep work organized throughout the semester.  A majority of your tests will come from the work and notes we take in class. Your History notebook will be used as an open-notebook Final Exam at the end of the semester. Being organized will be to your advantage.

ABSENCES

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO COME TO ME FOR WHAT HE OR SHE MISSED WHEN ABSENT FROM CLASS.  In the event of an absence, the student will have 3 days to turn in any make-up work he or she might have missed.
