Attendance and participation are vital for success.  Please read and complete written homework as assigned.  Please bring supplies, books, and other necessary items to class daily.

All juniors will take the ACT in the spring.  The ACT is important for both college-bound and non-college-bound students.  Many employers are utilizing the data from the test for employment placement and opportunities.  ACT will test grammar, vocabulary, writing skills, and reading skills as well as math and science.  Please encourage your student to do his/her best on the test.

There is a new school policy for make-up work.  Please read carefully.

The school policy reads as follows:  “As a minimum, a student will be allowed an equal number of days to complete the make-up work as the number of days that were missed.  (Ex:  A student who is absent three days should have all work turned in by the third day that the student has returned to school.)  More time for make-up work may be granted in special circumstance by making arrangements with the teacher involved.”

LATE WORK:   FCHS has a new policy that goes into effect this year:  “A student who does not have an assignment completed and ready to turn in the day the assignment is due will receive a twenty (20) point deduction and will be given one additional day to turn in the assignment.  No late assignments will be accepted after the following day the assignment is due.  A student is allowed two (2) late assignments per semester.  After the second late assignment the teacher will assign a grade of zero (0) for each subsequent late assignment.  A student is responsible for arranging additional time with their teacher(s) if the situation warrants.”

Parent/Guardian, if you want access to your student's grades and assignments in the current classes, follow these directions.  Log on to the Franklin County School District website www.fcstn.net  .  Scroll to the bottom of the page.  At the right side of the screen, find the SKYWARD logo and tap the "Student/Family Access."  Type YOUR name as first initial and last name (no capital letters) and 000.  Your temporary password will be pass1234.  You will be asked to change your password when you log on to SKYWARD page.  You will then be able to see your student's grades and missing assignments in each current class.  If you are unable to successfully log in, you can get assistance from FCHS guidance (931-967-2294).
